Sustainable Food Systems and Permaculture Design

An Environmental Program That Explores Food Systems

Offered through the Center for Creative Change at Antioch University Seattle, the certificate in Sustainable Food Systems and Permaculture Design addresses the growing public interest in sustainable food systems and permaculture. You develop a solid understanding of the social, ecological and political issues of food systems – from soil to plate. In addition, you acquire tangible skills to help you design and implement sustainable changes in these systems. The program incorporates international opportunities for short-stay, hands-on fieldwork in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Whether you are working in organic farming, permaculture, ecological agriculture, urban and rural sustainability, or community-supported agriculture and food services, this graduate-level certificate helps you to understand environmental and social problems, and gives you the tools to design and implement creative solutions. This certificate also can give you an added career advantage, offer opportunities for networking and provide an easy way to see if graduate school is what you’d like to pursue.

If you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and want to strengthen your skills to lead environmental and social change, but aren’t quite ready to commit to an environmental program that leads to a degree, then consider a graduate certificate in sustainable food systems and permaculture design.
